TERMS OF SERVICE

1. THE GAME

Dreary is a free-to-play browser-based multiplayer game operated by griefcoded. Access is provided as-is, with no uptime guarantee. The service may change, pause, or shut down at any time without notice.

2. ACCOUNTS

You must provide a valid email address at registration. Your email is used only for password recovery — it is not shared with third parties and is not used for marketing.

You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure. One account per person. Account sharing is not permitted.

3. PLAYER CONDUCT

By playing Dreary you agree not to:

Use exploits, bugs, or unintended mechanics to gain an unfair advantage
Harass, threaten, or use hate speech toward other players in chat
Attempt to disrupt the server or other players’ connections
Impersonate staff or other players
Sell, trade, or purchase accounts or in-game items for real money

Violations may result in a permanent account ban without appeal.

4. DATA WE COLLECT

Dreary collects and stores:

Your username and hashed password
Your email address (for password recovery only)
Gameplay events: zone visits, kills, quests, chat messages, and in-game actions
Your IP address for connection rate-limiting and security purposes

We do not collect payment information. We do not sell your data. Chat logs may be reviewed by staff to investigate reports of misconduct.

5. CONTENT

All game content — text, art, audio, and code — belongs to griefcoded. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or stream game assets without permission.

Player-generated content (character names, chat messages, notes) remains your own, but you grant griefcoded a license to store and display it within the game.

6. DISCLAIMER

Dreary is provided “as is” without any warranty of any kind. griefcoded is not liable for any lost progress, data loss, or service interruption. The game is a hobby project — it may break, change, or end.

7. CHANGES

These terms may be updated at any time. Continued use of the game after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. The effective date above reflects the most recent revision.
